Hello,
Today marks the launch of Boris Watch. Over the next few years, we’ll be tracking the fall and fall of the Greater London Authority, under the leadership of Boris Johnson.
However, I need help. Volunteers are invited to become co-authors. Please leave a comment, if you’re interested.

This is a brilliant idea.
I really expected more of Londoners - hopefully this is a mistake we can learn from.
Count me in. Although it seems a bit presumptuous to assume it’ll be a complete disaster, it’s the little things we need to document now, like the apparent influence of the deeply unpleasant right wing think tank Policy Exchange or Boris saying he had a ‘new team ready to go in’ despite giving the impression in the campaign that he hadn’t, or marking off the key dates for key decisions on transport policy…
etc. You get the picture.
Unfortunately there are a lot of morons in the ‘donut’ and elsewhere - i’m hoping that Boris will ditch the Lynton Crosby manufactured humility and predictably let the whole thing go to his big, fat blond head, thus exposing what a total charletan he is - we need to be on the case and quick off the mark!
p.s it is a disaster already, according to my friends overseas - they are astonished that London could switch from cool, creative liberalism one minute to knee-jerk right wing regressioin the next……perception is all and i fear that London is already losing it’s world status….
WE MUST ACT!
Found this via Blairwatch. Happy to help.
I agree with Tom. It’s the little, apparently innocuous, things they do early that will be laying the groundwork for much worse to come. There needs to be an archive, biographies of “advisors” and a place to sound off, natch.
Yawn
Yet another boring diatribe site written by left wing babies(arrogant ones at that)
‘I really expected more of Londoners’ is typical..
Grow up creeps and realise that it is Guardian reading hypocrites like you who helped Boris win.
I mean, having Polly Toynbee on his side must have been the kiss of death for Ken
Why don’t you all piss off to your villas in Tuscany for a bit?
Friend of mine had his wallet lifted on the underground this morning - so much for Boris reducing crime in the capital…..
I was witness to a fight in Covent Garden on Friday night, which was rather over-attended by about 20 policemen of various persuasions. I’m not sure another couple of hundred cops is exactly what London requires at this time it only took three to hold the chap down, the rest were pushing passers by around and trying to look tough.
On the other hand, I waited over half an hour for a night bus from Chingford. What’s going on?
Comments using terms like “left wing babies” and “creeps” show true immaturity. If you disagree with someone’s politics, the grown-up thing to do is to take them up on those ideas. Show me why I’m wrong, don’t result to ad hominem arguments.
And I truly did expect more from Londoners - not just because they voted for a conservative (no secret I dislike the party, of course), but because they voted for Boris. Whilst he would be great to sit next to at a dinner party, I don’t think that he is a capable mayor. I had hoped that other Londoners would also be able to see that, regardless of their politics.
Selecting Boris Johnson as candidate was a cynical attempt to shed the ‘nasty Tory’ image. I had many disagreements with Ken Livingstone, and can understand why Londoners voted against him, but Boris is clearly a political naif and his tortuous opinions regarding moral issues are devisive.
I’d be very happy to contribute.
One thing that could be interesting is attempting to establish coherent principles that Boris holds. Consider, for example, his ever-meandering opinion regarding homosexuality.
I’m in.
So is a co-author of the blog in the link. I also write for them as R.E. Vamp.
I fell out of the frying pan before it got too hot, it seems. I can’t really comment much on Boris as mayor as I don’t have to deal with him anymore (or any briti-politi). I do have to contend with American politicians, though, and I think Boris is a step ahead when it comes to being professional and mature compared to the c*** over here. Am I allowed to use that word?
I think a weekly Boris picture caption game would be a healthy addition to this site.
[Edited so we don't fall foul of some word filters almost immediately. NJ]
Naah, not that interested - besides I don’t live in London so it’s better run by folk who actually have a vested interest.
I’ve just posted a piece on Boris, with special reference to his background. Feel free to grab whatever tittle-tattle you want from it.
I wouldn’t mind swapping sidebar links with your site, though. Drop me a line if you are interested.
I’d like to join in if you’re still soliciting authors.
I’m busy with some personal business for the next four weeks or so but after that I’d be able to dedicate plenty of time to Boris-watching. In the mean time I should be able to post the odd short item from time to time.
What’s spurred me on is the lack of coverage anywhere I’ve looked today of Boris actually breaking the law numerous times on Friday on his way to and from work. Quite how he’s getting away with this I don’t know, but it made me think I would have posted it on here if I could so perhaps I should ask for a login!
Thanks,
Mr. Stop Boris
Hello there Mr. Stop Boris,
I’m not entirely sure how to set up a login (I didn’t make the site, I just joined it), but if you register in the Meta column then I think that we can send you a password. Incidentally, are you Mr. Stop Boris of StopBoris.com?
Bensix
@Mr. Stop Boris. Yeah, register yourself, and I’ll elevate you to an author.
Naadir - thanks, I’ve tried registering now and am awaiting an e-mail containing my password now. Hadn’t noticed the Register link before.
