Boris Takes Another Job

June 1st, 2008 by Tom

This time it’s Chairman of the London Waste and Recycling Board, which I don’t recall being any of his ‘Number One Priorities’ before, but there you go.  OK, it’s only four days a month, but still, phew, eh?  He must hardly have time to have more than a quick bite of a sandwich between chairing things, writing columns and representing Henley-upon-Thames in Parliament…

The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, has announced he will chair the London Waste and Recycling Board in order to work with London’s borough councils to boost recycling in the capital and reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill.

WWYBSDSTU has more.  Notably, this press release contains a dig at the previous Mayor, which rather contrasts with the complete lack of mention of the previous Mayor when announcing the continuing reduction in crime figures last week.  Not quite British fair play, Boris.

He announced he’s resigning his seat in Parliament a while ago.
