Is it that time of the morning already? Boris is considering another U-Turn. Quoth a GLA Document we probably weren’t meant to see:
The Mayor made a policy decision to cease the publication of the Londoner. It is not known if there will be a journal online or in another format at present. There may, in the future, be proposals to create a new structure but this is not clear at present and therefore posts are not formally at risk.
Emphasis mine. The Pyongyang style freesheet which caused so much hilarity at Mayoral hustings might be coming back.
So rejoice Londoners! Your Mayor may break another promise, but now you’ll have the chance to share in his thoughts online, as well as in all those columns he’s going to write. Can’t we just smile and be happy? After all, BOZZA IS A LEGERND, and you’re lucky to have him.
Perhaps that’ll be what the transition team comes up with to explain if and when our beloved BoJo breaks another one of his headline policies.
I wonder what’s going to happen to all those trees he promised, though…

Much though I’d miss the Pyongyang Times, surely Boris doesn’t need The Londoner when he has the Evening Standard?
Mind you a chance to share in, and hopefully comment on, the great man’s thoughts online is something to rejoice about.
Maybe Boris has got a bit of time on his hands as he’s not really running London anymore, and wants the challenge of running a free sheet/website so he can gain experience ready for when he really takes over?
