Well, I guess that’s the honeymoon over, then.
Later - another attempt to guess whether the Venezuela deal was a net contributor to TfL coffers, worrying news about the crucial ELLX Phase 2 project and there are some TfL Board minutes to go through. It also occured to me while away that some analysis of the respective turnout figures for borough and Mayoral elections might be interesting in establishing who, democratically speaking, should be wearing the trousers.

Should I be ashamed to say that 2 weeks without the internet sounds awful?
Hope that the holiday was a happy one, Tom.
Welcome back, Tom. Look forward to reading all that stuff later!
And yes, the honeymoon is definitely over, or as I saw someone somewhere quoted as saying recently, most politicians have a honeymoon, but Boris appears instead to be having a hangover.
Good to have you back Tom.
It’s worth remembering that Boris’s real honeymoon was somewhat marred by him having already ‘lost’ his wedding ring (true story.)
It’s not the two weeks w/o internet that was awful, but the resulting huge pile of articles and blogs to read through to get up to speed (never mind the pile of post). Of course, all my RSS feeds have a big hole in the middle where the computer was off so I then have to go back and read the original.
We did have Sky News in the pool bar though. Naturally, that kept us informed*

I had two internet-less weeks in Cuba earlier this year, it was far worse coming back to it than it was being without it.
(I’m sorry internet, I didn’t mean it, I love you really…)
No bloody wonder - I send you the invite to our LC event and tell you to pass it on to everyone, and never hear back! If Ben hadn’t emailed, I wouldn’ have even been able to invite the rest…
good to have you back anyway
