An attempt to enhance the accountability of the new London mayoralty

*Sigh*

On his My Telegraph blog, Richard Barnbrook is singing the praises of Anthony Browne. This is, apparently, one of his bright ideas:

“Un-PC groups should be formed and promoted to oppose PC flag-wavers like left-wing charities. A taxpayers’ alliance could argue for lower taxes; a homeowners association could campaign on issues affecting homeowners, like council tax and crime”

A taxpayers’ alliance, eh? Will The TaxPayers’ Alliance do?

Oh, you mean The Taxpayers’ Alliance that’s a front for the BNP? That Taxpayers’ Alliance?

As a tax-payer I’d actually rather pay more tax for things like education and the environment and have less of it go to the military and nuclear power. Barndoor should stop making assumptions.

Hey, if the Taxpayers’ Alliance is already a BNP front, that’ll save Barnbrook the trouble of having to call it ‘London’s Taxpayers’ Alliance’ when he gets caught out nicking the name.

Crime affects Council Tenants and Housing Association Tenants more than it affects Owner-Occupiers; It affects Private sector tenants even more.
