I posted earlier on our local web forum, chiswickw4.com, pointing out to the local Boris fans that things were perhaps going a little pear shaped. I received a shrill response that began as follows:

To which my answer, about to be posted, is ‘No’.

Heh, I love the idea that you should “give the man a chance to do the job“. I very much doubt that Boris has heard of this site, let alone felt that the presence of it impedes upon his ability to work.
I’s a local forum for local people. We’ll have no tousled old Etonian trouble there.
During the campaign, one of the assiduous local Tories announced breathlessly that we would be blessed by a visit from the Blond himself. I was working myself up into a fine lather of expectation right up to the point where it was cancelled and never rescheduled. He won 50% of the vote anyway.
Just remind them that they live in the LB ‘ahnslow and share it with the largest Sikh population in London - that never fails to both amuse and delight the local Tories.
