Kulveer Ranger is confirmed as a speaker at the Modern Rail Conference 2008, in London on the 27th November. He’ll be speaking about:
Afternoon Keynote Address: Delivering an Effective Rail Infrastructure in the Capital – The Long Term Plan
- Investing in Rail Infrastructure in the Capital – the new direction for London
- The need to keep to budget – investing wisely
- Speedy, frequent rail in London – The need for longer trains, more frequent services and oyster at all stations
- The need to invest in technology
- Delivering passenger security and safety at our stations
- Long term projects that London needs – an update on future plans
- Benefits of Crossrail – supporting economic growth and helping developing London as the financial centre of the UK and Europe
- Building Oyster Cards into our over ground strategy – Integrating London’s Transport network with National Rail Services
For those of us who didn’t know Boris had a long term plan for rail services (he’s certainly never shown a great deal of interest in heavy rail matters – just count the number of questions he’s not properly answered about East London Line Phase 2) this could be just the ticket*. That’s assuming the Tory Troll is wrong with his suggestion that Ranger is the target of a bit of a whispering campaign.
Of course, with Christian Wolmar in the chair on the 27th November, Kulveer will already be facing a tough crowd. Let’s wish him the best of luck.
* Sorry
