I’m fed up with Boris transport vapourware after last night’s bus and airport marathon. Here’s a real, shiny, new train for the London Overground lines, just rolled out (several months late, but hey) at Bombardier’s Derby plant. Check the funky 70s style seating moquette and the extra-wide gangways. It looks like production is in full swing, which looks good for an early introduction.
Now let’s get them into service and show a tangible improvement to London’s transport system in the Boris era (dating entirely from the Livingstone area, but beggars can’t be choosers).
Oh, and Oyster PAYG is apparently officially going live on all stations [PDF] from Paddington to West Drayton/Greenford this week. Great joy all round. Then next month we get the Shepherd’s Bush complex opening, at least the Overground and Hammersmith & City line stations.

Shepherd’s Bush Overground is supposed to open this Sunday (28th)
I wish they’d hurry up with PAYG on SWT.
Hear Bloody Hear.
I’m more excited about the new Shepherd’s Bush bus station than the shopping centre.
