Just a quick reminder that the Progressive London conference is on the 24th January at Congress House, starting at 10am. It’ll be interesting to see how much it’s the King Ken in Exile show and how much a genuine meeting of minds among London’s red/green/yellow Rainbow Alliance, all of whom got a vote from me last May. I rather hope it’s the latter. There’s plenty of common ground in Boris’s London, most of it I suspect looking rather aghast at the way things are panning out.
I’m speaking on blogs, along with Martin Hoscik of Mayorwatch and Adam Bienkov of Tory Troll. Looking at the rest of the guest list I feel, well, quite confident and unafraid, but then I’m a cocky know-nothing loudmouthed git.
Speakers at the Progressive London conference this month include Harriet Harman, Tessa Jowell and David Lammy from the government; Susan Kramer and Mike Tuffrey from the Liberal Democrats; Labour MPs Jon Cruddas, Jeremy Corbyn, Dawn Butler and Karen Buck; Jenny Jones, Darren Johnson and Jean Lambert from the Greens; George Galloway from Respect as well as leading academics like Eric Hobsbawm and Doreen Massey and representatives of London’s diverse communities.

Nuts, I’d forgotten about this. Already made plans now to be out of town on that day…
Cancel them, dammit!
Alas I’m a victim of non-refundable travel and accommodation…
The phrase “Speakers at the Progressive London conference this month” suggests that this will be more than a one off
I’d better get an extra-large bucket of popcorn.
I will make a point of taking some coffee (free trade, since this is Prog London) to drink, so when George Galloway gets up and says something ridiculous, I have an appropriate beverage to spray out of my mouth.
I also note that the
SWPLeft List is not present, are they toocrazyrevolutionary for you or are you too bourgeois for them?
