chiswick "rhythm of london" in Google returns 9 hits, the RoL website top, then Helen's article here. Nothing on ChiswickW4 so far, but they often pick things up a bit late.

Let us know if you spot any local publicity for this, Tom.

A recent comment about Story Of London on Big Smoke:

"We London Blue Badge tourist guides put on 35 walking tours for The Story of London Walking Weekend, including walks in Polish and Russian. Numbers were not great but our domestic market no doubt flicked the nets at 7.00am and decided to lie doggo. There's not much BoJo can do about the weather. But we all felt it was a great thing to do, it showed our range and versatility, but comments ranged from The Mayor's website was way too complicated and the event could have done with some additional publicity - Metro, Standard, etc. Maybe next time every weekend should have walks, so they can be spread out. There were too many things on offer for just 48 hours. But we Badgers would certainly love to be involved in the future. If you want London's history, we're the boys and girls!"

Boris seems to be of the opinion that merely sending press releases to the media is sufficient, rather than actually paying for advertising. I think the days of the 1/4 page ad in Time Out and posters and leaflets at Tube stations and tourist information centres are over as far as GLA events are concerned.

Fluck me, there's a local one:

"Dukes Meadow, The Promenade, Hounslow, W4 Nearest Rail: Chiswick Overground (South West trains from Waterloo)
Buses: Route E3 towards Edensor Road/ New Chiswick Pool, Get off at Cavendish School/ Grantham Road 15 minute walk to the Promenade, Dukes Meadow. "

Confusingly using the word 'Overground' to mean generic mainline rail rather than the specific London Overground, though.

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&q=chiswick&ie=UTF8&split=0&gl=uk&ei=CRExSrLRCMqNjAfqi83IBw&ll=51.476057,-0.251398&spn=0.003983,0.011051&t=h&z=17&layer=c&cbll=51.476616,-0.252581&panoid=M3AuKx7NigkP__YPPgIbzg&cbp=12,103.34,,0,5.35

To be picky, the nearest station is Barnes Bridge rather than Chiswick and the nearest bus stop is the southbound 190 one outside Alexandra Gardens, the southbound E3 one at Staveley Road (Stop N) or the northbound 190 at Great Chertsey Rd (Stop R). It's a trek from any of them, though. I think I'll take the bike.
