Boris is now, apparently, going to open the preview service on the East London Line (weekdays, New Cross/New Cross Gate branches only) tomorrow at 9:45 am.  It’ll be interesting to see if he’s sufficiently chastened by the kerfuffle last time to restrict his remarks to a simple speech suited to a ribbon-cutting on a project he had nothing to do with, or whether he’ll be unable to resist turning it into the usual three ring political circus:

Transport for London is pleased to announce that the latest addition to the London Overground network is scheduled to open on Tuesday 27 April for passenger service. From April 27 passengers will be able to travel from Dalston Junction to New Cross & New Cross Gate. The southern extension to Crystal Palace and West Croydon is expected to become operational in late May.

The first London Overground service will be the 12:05 service from Dalston Junction to New Cross on Tuesday 27 April. Below are the next services should you wish to travel on any.

1205 Dalston Junction – New Cross
1212 Dalston Junction – New Cross Gate
1210 New Cross Gate – Dalston Junction
1218 New Cross – Dalston Junction

The preview service running from April 27 will run on weekdays between 07:00 – 20:00hrs. A full service is expected to commence in late May when services are extended to West Croydon and Crystal Palace.

The language, I note, is carefully neutral there.  Let’s hope Boris follows in similar vein.
